Amicus Am-2l
Escort fighter

Around the same time Starfleet introduced the Iruka class, the Amicus Independent Constrution House in the Beta Delphini system unveiled their Amicus line of personal starfighters, the first being the Am-2l.

The Am-2l is the smallest, simplest fighter ever used by Starfleet, aside from the Widget class autonomous ships. Am-2ls are far more durable, however, and are not automated, with provisions for one small cetacean occupant. Though slow and pitifully armed, these escorts are simple and cheap to produce, and offer incredible maneuverability.

Am-2ls have been discontinued, but several dozen units are still in service throughout the galaxy, as they are not worth the effort to recycle into new ship components.
